CONGRATULATIONS to Tom Martin, the winner of our contest, naming my new blog: Crystal's Cupboard.

It was a difficult decision to make because of all of the great blog names submitted. After much discussion my team and I decided to take a vote.

Again, congratulations Tom. (His prize was a book of his choice published by Martin's Muses. His selection was Clara's Christmas Journey.)

Welcome to Crystal's Cupboard, my new blog. I am excited to have your join me as I continue to learn more about the fascinating world of herbs. No matter how much I know, there is always more to learn.
I will include the history and medicinal properties of each herb. Then I will include some information on essential oils about most of the herbs. When possible recipes will be included.

Bloggers are invited to contact me about writing guest posts to share their herbal expertise with us, and I welcome your comments - and any recipes you would like to share.

As you may know, there are millions of medicinal plant throughout the world, and it was difficult for me to know where to start. After much soul-searching I decided to start with 'kitchen herbs'. There are many foods we use on a daily basis which contain healing properties, and were once considered important tonics.

Join me next time as I begin blogging about my life-long passion of herbal remedies, starting with basic foods we use daily.

To Your Health,
Crystal

Hi, I'm Crystal and I grew up hearing the stories of my great-great grandfather who was a missionary doctor to the Oregon Territory. He used both conventional medicine and herbal remedies to cure Pioneer patients and First Nations patients.

While in college I began studying alternative medicine, especially herbal remedies. I continue to study the experts and to learn more. I love sharing my fascination with these miraculous plants.
