Once we head a success guru say that "Success begets success". How true those words are. The simple fact that I have been able to create the time, and determination to follow though on these blog posts has been so validating. Already, I am feeling successful - and this is only the first week of the new year.
My professional colleagues have assured me that my readers appreciate my willingness to share my life with them and that I am not imposing on them. I hope you agree because I am sharing a part of my personal life here. Below are three of my important goals for this year, and what I intend to do to accomplish them.
1) I want to shed ten extra pounds.
This means changing my lifestyle. The very thought of that is overwhelming. So, to simplify it, for the month of January I will commit to drinking a minimum of 4 glasses of water a day and to will attempt to add 1extra helping of fruits and vegetables a day. I don't even want to think about exercising in this cold, wet weather of ours.
2) I want to write and publish 3 books this year.
At this point all I know is that I want one of them to be a parenting book as it is past time for them to be written. Roger and I are meeting to discuss where we want to go with our Amish novels. After that I will sit down and make a list and decide which books I will write and which one to write first.
3) I want to spend more time with family & friends, and in reading the classics.
I plan to start by reading 5-10 pages of Dante's INFERNO on Sunday afternoons. That is something a person should be able to do easily enough. Next on the list is to discuss schedules with my family and make some decisions.

Your input is valuable to me. Please feel free to comment and share about your challenges and successes with your personal and career goals.
In the meantime, I want to share a photo of Rosa. She is shy and skittish. However she LOVES the ocean, especially the beaches where she can be off-leash and run to her heart's content. Maybe I need to make it a goal to take her back to the ocean sometime soon.
