Time Management is an issue for all of us, especially with a new year starting in just two days. While I don't have a magic wand or the perfect solution, it is my hope that my experiences and ideas may be of some encouragement to my readers.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I have read many books on Time Management (and goal setting and how to be successful in life). There are some good ones out there. The problem is to know which ones to read first. I'm afraid that subject will need to be a post of it's own.
In this post I will mention two good authors whose books, and teachings, have really helped me. Julie Morgenstern is best known for her book, Organizing From the Inside Out. All of her books and lectures are excellent in integrating both organizing and time management. Tyranny of the Urgent by Charles E. Hummel is an excellent book on dealing with life's priorities. I look forward to reading more of his books.

What I learned from these two authors is:
A) It is not enough to list what I need to do. I must write down WHEN I am going to do each item on my to do list.
B) It is wiser to make a FEW changes at a time than to try and overhaul my schedule all at once.
With a new year, and a fresh start just two days away, here is what I plan to do - well part of what I plan to do - with all of these time management techniques I have accumulated.
1) I will start small and commit to blog a minimum of one day a week.
2) I have already written in my datebook that Mondays are my day to post.
3) I will share my goals, successes and challenges on the first Monday of each month, starting on Monday, January 6, 2014.
For me, organizing time management will be a life-time process and I welcome any and all ideas you have for my readers and myself.
Wishing you a HAPPY NEW YEAR
and
the most organized 2014 ever!
